Big fan of your writing and of Lloyd. Having heard a few of his stories myself at that table, this one felt great to read.

We’re no longer a society where hunting wild game is acceptable due to the lost of habitat and extinction events all around us. Humans should stick to industrialized farming. If even just 1% of the population did what you folks are doing all these wild game would become extinct.

I think most biologists would disagree with you, especially in the instance of these turkeys in the Bay Area. they are not native and are in fact invasive. Also I think the logic of relying on the very system that created the problem you’re talking about to solve it is a fallacy and merely an emotional response.

Been following your blogs since I was in high school and you were at Colby. Truly formative for me and an inspiration to keep me writing, taking photos, and being outside. Lucky to have been following your photos/writing through the years and thrilled you're still at it.
